    PPPL is the only U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory dedicated to the development of fusion energy science. The Laboratory is engaged in a broad spectrum of plasma physics research ranging from the theoretical analysis and modeling of fusion plasmas to the laboratory testing of plasmas approaching the conditions necessary for an energy producing fusion reactor.
